From the very beginning Thor: Ragnarok has sounded like it would be one of the more unusual and eccentric films to come out of Marvel studios for some time. For one thing it’s directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows), and has a cast that includes Jeff Goldblum. The films plot also revolves around Thor teaming up with the Hulk after the two face-off in gladiatorial combat. It’s insane. Now thanks to some newly-revealed images from Entertainment Weekly, we can see just how eccentric it’s going to be.
First of all Thor has a whole new look, which gives Thor an entirely different feel from the early films. This will no doubt divide many of Thor’s hardcore fans and will result in many an argument somewhere on the web.
We also get to see the film’s main villain Hela (played by Cate Blanchett), who looks very much like those girls you see in secondary school with their hair over their eyes listening to evanescence or some such.
Jeff Goldblum meanwhile looks like they’ve plucked him straight out of some 80’s David Bowie video.
We also got a couple shots of Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Tom Hiddleston as Loki sipping on a drink in what has to be the most colourful bar in existence. There’s also some behind the scenes shots, all of which are below…
Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017. It will then open in US theatres on November 3, 2017.
